We literally drove away from the airport without a clue where we were going next! I consulted the Bible (the VERY sporadically usefull 2004 Churches RV guide to Mexico) and looked for a campsite near to Cancun. Luckily there was one 20 minutes drive away and off we went. On arrival we couldn’t really believe our eyes. We had just spent 2 weeks on a lovely white sand beach with blue water but this was another step up the scale of beautiful beaches! The sand was like powdered crystal and the water as clear as a bath! We stayed the night but had to move on the next day to find somewhere to spend New Years eve. A campsite had been recommended to us a little further along the coast in Paamul and that was where we went. We hooked up, launched a blog and booked ourselves in for the NYE meal and FREE bar!!! We managed to skype Alex’s Dad which was lovely and we all toasted to the New Year before we set off the the party!
Our meal was lovely, surf and turf Mexican style (thats with a HUGE lobster tail as your surf) and the wine and tequila flowed a little too freely to say the least! After dancing the night away to the live Mexican band and drinking far too many tequilas Alex disappeared. I found him curled up in bed with his clothes wet through in a heap and full of sand! He had clearly wandered either into the sea or the pool fully clothed and more unfortunately with the video camera in his pocket!

I joined him in bed and we spent the first day of 2012 feeling dreadfully hungover…and then we even spent the second day of 2012 feeling dreadfully hungover!!! But…we had good news which has cheered us up no end…we have a wedding sorted for this week right on the beach where we are staying! We go tonight (Wednesday) to meet the Shaman and to have our ceremonial flowers blessed and the wedding will be tomorrow morning at 10am! I am getting nervous already and panicking about what on Earth I will do with my hair! It has a mind of its own now as it is rarely tamed! Its all very exciting and we are glad to be back on track with the weddings, the blogs and our trip!
