Our project is established but our site is new and although we have weddings specialists in over 60 countries it’s going to take time to get everyone on the ship. If you can’t find exactly what you want please get in touch and if you are an awesome wedding specialist or you know people you want to recommend let us know.

Wedding wishes and new friends!

After the wedding and our mini reception with Maria and Dean we retired to the beach to reflect on our lovely day, snooze off the great lunch and of course enjoy some sunshine. The wedding had really taken it out of us, in a good way. We were so relaxed we were horizontal! We could barely summon the energy to move! We spoke about sending the offerings out to Xchel and the sea and about what we had wished for as we had not been allowed to confer. Alex told me he had wished that I would always be happy and that now he was wondering if he had done the right thing. He explained that he had suddenly thought that maybe I wouldn’t have to with him to be happy! I laughed and told him that I had wished for us always to be together so he needn’t worry. We laughed at how in tune we are with each other and we do often wonder if one of us has imagined up the other. A lone traveller with his imaginary perfect companion.

We relaxed in each others arms and watched the moody clouds gather over the crystal blue Caribbean sea until they completely blocked out the sun.
The next morning we decided to go and explore the surrounding area as we hadn’t moved for 5 days. We had arranged to meet Dean the following day so weren’t going far but we really didn’t need to. Along the coast there are plenty of places to stop and we could have done anything from kite surfing, to snorkelling, to diving, to zip lining through the forest but we were still really relaxed and were looking for somewhere to lounge on the beach. We found such a place and did just that. We set up camp on the sand…which involved digging holes under Peggy’s wheels so that she was level and wouldn’t defrost the freezer…and hit the beach. There we met a couple from Quebec who had driven all the way to Mexico in 12 days!! An amazingly long way! They had arrived in Quintana Roo time to spend Christmas with family and had really settled into their spot there. We sat around their table and exchanged travel stories and had several beers. Philip had been out that day and caught a fish with a harpoon which we cooked up on the barbeque for dinner. A few other travellers came and sat around with us and we nattered until it got late and we ran out of beer.

Luckily we didn’t feel too rough the next day as we were meeting Dean at one of the local cenotes for a day of something a little different!

See what happens next on our travelling wedding adventure!

Firstly….must compliment you on the new way we have to look at your photos on this blog…it’s fantastic 🙂 Good times and new friends are really featuring in your adventures. I am amazed at how you so easily make friends and just have so many fun conversations and experiences.

The photos of you, Lisa, on the beach are so nice….you must feel sometimes that you have to pinch yourself to prove you really are in all of these picturesque spots. Did you camp on the beach as well or was it just a stopover for a relax?

Your Mayan wedding ceremony has really been a unique experience for you and touched you both deeply…it’s been good to read about it…you are teasing with several blogs….I am waiting for news of just how you were photographed under the water….that was really a surprise 🙂

    Happy trails guys. xx
