We hate Pop Up’s too, can you help us get rid of it!?

Our project is established but our site is new and although we have weddings specialists in over 60 countries it’s going to take time to get everyone on the ship. If you can’t find exactly what you want please get in touch and if you are an awesome wedding specialist or you know people you want to recommend let us know.

Chilling in cancun and picking up mum!

So while we had our accomodation and wifi we made the most of it and tried to get caught up on the blog. The connection was slow but we got a few things out. We wandered the beach a little while too and even ventured into Cancun itself if only for a 5 minute drive! Having had some rest we had some new ideas about the Colin Cowie wedding video and started to put that together (which involved Alex learning a whole new aditing and recording programme…not to mention the sound element of his mammoth task). By time it came to collecting Janet from the airport we were rested and ready for the drive back the 4 hours on the boring road to Telchac Puerto where we had rented a property for the 2 weeks over Christmas.

We were well organised and went to the supermarket and did the BIG food shop for the appartment and as we were packing the shopping into Peggy the phone rang! It was Janet! She had landed an hour early…or so we thought! We had actually been in a different time zone than we thought for goodness how knows long! The problem with traveling alone and not really speaking the language of the country you are in is that you very rarely ask anyone the time! We were luckily not far away from the airport so threw everything into Peggy and set off to collect our very special Christmas guest!

We collected Janet and ALL of her bags (some of which were sent by my family too), introduced her to Peggy and laughed all the way to the long boring road. We nattered and caught up all the way back to the apartment and the only drama of the night was finding ourselves (directed by the GPS) down THE worst road we have been on yet!! It was so bad we pulled the sink waste pipe off and split the tank trying to get down it!! It was the worst road you can imagine, like a series of ditches and the afore mentioned topes but alterating. If your right wheel was down it didn’t mean your left wheel was down, we rocked side to side, up and down and scraped Peggys under carriage over boulders and through deep puddles in the muddy track. Eventually we managed to find a spot to turn around. Needless to say there was a lampost (No light on it, just the post) right in the way so I had to get out of the van in my shorts and flip flops in the dead of night with all the bugs and creepy crawlies to direct Alex back into the bushes and around the lamp post. I had a torch which lights up a football sized space at a time and he managed to inch back and forth over the rocky, muddy land, half in a bush untill we could turn around and get back out! With Janets introduction to the Mexican roads we sighed a huge sigh of relief when we were back on the boring as hell road and nearly back at the apartment!

By time we arrived we were so wiped out we were ready to just dump our things, have a glass of wine and get some sleep! BUT…wait for it, there’s ALWAYs a but!
First we had to contend with the owner of the property on the phone who was telling us our payment hadn’t gone through!! Anyway long story short…it had and we stayed and we slept like the dead!

See what happens next on our traveling wedding adventure!

    Well,
    Well,
Well …… Despite your message Lisa ….. I just HAD to read this blog ….. it’s like buses …… you wait,
    and wait,
    and wait …..
and then ca-pow ….. they all come at once! (lol)

Now…Alex don’t enroll on a barber’s course….I think you’ve got plenty of knowledge already! (kidding) That was a valiant effort to tidy the unruly head of hair and it didn’t look all that bad when you were finished 🙂

….. and that long, long, long road….YIKES!! and it wasn’t a one-way journey so you had to travel all the way back again after the airport pickup. BUT YOU HAD MOM ON BOARD ON THE RETURN JOURNEY…..I can guess that the return part of the journey soon passed with all the catching up you were doing 🙂

Your destination (beach house) took my breath away ….. it was so well appointed (you must have felt you had landed in heaven with all the posh facilities).

Hahaha just rewatched this video of Alex cutting his hair, it was good fun, he is still trying to talk me into letting him get it cut properly!
The beach house looks so lovely on the pics and it really was gorgeous if a little ‘rustic’. It was perfect for our Christmas holidays!
PS…I knew you wouldn’t be able to hang on…I guess I kind of goaded you into reading them all at once just putting them out there!!!
    Xxxxx
