We hate Pop Up’s too, can you help us get rid of it!?

Our project is established but our site is new and although we have weddings specialists in over 60 countries it’s going to take time to get everyone on the ship. If you can’t find exactly what you want please get in touch and if you are an awesome wedding specialist or you know people you want to recommend let us know.

Big shiny bauble in the sea!

After the excitement of the dress fitting and meeting with everyone we spent the day trying to focus on catching up with the blog. We hijacked the wifi from the hostal where we were parked outside. We blogged our eyes square and the following day we went for a stroll along the promenade and soaked up the sea air. When we got back to Peggy we checked our emails and found yet another surprise invite from Luis to another amazing restaurant!

We sneaked into the hostal under the guise of filling our water bottles from their outdoor tap and had a shower each in preperation for our meal out. Neither of us have many fancy clothes unless we go in full wedding attire so we scrubbed up as best we could and jumped in a taxi to the beautiful restaurant, La Rosa Nautica!

The restaurant is at the end of the pier and shimmers like a beautiful christmas

Food glorious food!

bauble on the crashing waves. We excitedly walked along the pier dotted with old fashioned street lamps, a warm glow reflecting in the ocean around us.
The restaurant is round so that the view can be enjoyed from every table and as we were seated and handed the menus we enjoyed the sounds of the waves crashing against the stilts below us!

We were greeted and shown the Grand chefs taster menu which offered us a taste of all of the locally inspired dishes, 3 small portions of starter, main and desert! It sounded and looked fantastic when it arrived.
The starter was octopus ceviche, causa with prawn and tuna ceviche with avocado. All raw fish which is most definitely not my favourite most of the time but it was delicious. Alex LOVES ceviche so he thought he was going to get 2 plates full when he saw it arrive but I finished the lot! The fish was so delicate and fresh and marinated in beautiful flavours that it just melted on the tongue!

The main course was steak with caramalised onions on a bed of chunky chips, King prawn on Tacu-tacu and seabass with leak sauce and creamed potatoes! It was wonderful!
The steak was perfectly cooked and drizzled with a mouth watering jus, the tacu-tacu was a new taste for us and one we really like. A local dish of rice, beans and lentils all mixed together to make similar to mash I guess! The prawn was a bit humongous for me but the seabass with the leek sauce was mind blowing! The fish perfectly cooked, the leek sauce a perfect partner! My mouth is watering remembering the flavours, for me I’m unsure if there is a better combination!

While we were absolutely stuffed full we couldn’t pass up the amazing looking deserts! They looked like jewels on the rectangular plate as they arrived. A lucuma tart (lacuma is a local fruit that tasted a little like coffee), chocolate mousse with raspberries and a pastry which resebled brandy snap, all washed down with a Pisco sour smoother than silk!

Luis came to meet us to take a few snaps and we felt so bad as we had eaten every scrap of food so there wasn’t even any for him to try! It was too good!

Again we had been treat like VIP’s, the service was very attentive, the wine list extensive and the food great! We had a lovely night and left feeling absolutely spoilt rotten…AGAIN! What an adventure this had turned out to be!

I don’t think the Queen of England could eat any better than you two 🙂 What a nice treat for you and the kindness of Luis is so nice and in such a beautiful location overlooking the water. Very romantic!

Snatched showers at the hostel eh? You guys sure know all the tricks…lol You couldn’t possibly go into a posh restaurant all sweaty and stinky…so needs must.

    Happy trails. xx

Tee hee we have been so lucky and Luis so kind! We definitely needed to shower before going there as it is faaaayyyyncy and as we had no fancy clothes to wear we could at least be clean hahah!

Hahahaha…memories of sneaking showers…my former husband and I did the same thing on our honeymoon…we’d go to a swimming pool and ask to check the locker rooms for a lost item…then we’d sneak in and have a shower, rather than paying at the campgrounds. We’d go at the start of “public swim” times and were seldom denied…we were soooo broke then. Can’t wait to see the photos of this wedding. Terie

I’m so happy to bring back memories of your travels!! We have also done the pool wash thing in LA of all places lol and Im sure will have to do it again…never once thought of saying we had lost something…great plan! We normally force ourselves to swim for 5 minutes haha! I can’t wait to post the pics either!!! Sorry we are taking so long…having a few car/ camera/ Peggy issues atm, should soon be back on track! Hahahaha! And I, who tought that the outmost gesture during my honeymoon was preparing our sandwiches (and not eating anywherw) sat at some park or outside some museum filling our bottle with water at every street corner tap was the most daring and thrifty thing we could do! hahahahaha there are other who do better! (of course, taking into account the different lodging conditions….I don’t forget)!Congratulations!
Isn’t La Rosa Nautica a blast? Always been my favourite for its romantic premises…..and wonderful food of course!
