12th -13th October 2012

We woke up as the sun turned the sky immediately blue and dressed again in our wedding attire for some more pictures with Catherine. It was 6am when we all met in the lobby armed with coffees and smiles prepared to capture more of the stunning surroundings at Devils thumb Ranch. We had spotted a tandem bicycle the night before and we desperate to take it for a spin. As we did we spotted a perfectly still pond reflecting the mountains and with a morning mist rising from it…it was too beautiful to pass up so we took a mini hike to take a closer look. As we oohed and aahed as the geese silently sailed across its surface leaving hardly a ripple the sun popped over the mountains directly behind us.

We took some more amazing shots until the icicles were threatening to form on our noses and hiked back to the warmth of the ranch…that I NEVER wanted to leave!

We grabbed more amazing food at Hecks sat by the roaring fire and then with long faces packed up our things and said more sad farewells to Kevin. We promised him we will be back. The ranch is one of the most amazing locations we have ever been to and it is way up there as a favourite for our official wedding in 2014!

We all piled back into Brits car and tiredly took a tour from the warmth of the car around Denver. Such a beautiful city full stop, but in the fall, it was just incredible. The colours are just so vibrant, bright yellows, ocres, burnt orange and the brightest pink leaves you have EVER seen clung to the trees that lined almost every street.

We had a quick interview with the local news station and stopped for more great food and then hit the airport with more long faces.

Both ourselves and Catherine had a flight to catch. Catherine had come all the way from Missouri especially to shoot our wedding and I am SO happy she did, her images are just perfect as is this video from Zach at Revert Photo. It perfectly captures the peace and tranquillity of the day and the emotions of the ceremony!

We on the other hand had a flight to Seattle!
Remember Kelli from our Seattle wedding? And Jonas and Mary and Tawsha and Lorena. We had been looking for an excuse to visit them all again and Tawsha created the perfect reason! The Seattle wedding preview event! We had kept in touch with everyone quite regularly and when we mentioned to Tawsha we might be able to come along she instantly responded with…you are a PART of it! So that night we flew from Colorado to Seattle to go take part in a fake wedding!!!

Kelli collected us from the airport, we stayed over at her house with her other half and all of the animals. Busy the crazy dog, Betty the constantly hungry cat and Fifty the new kitty addition just to mix things up. We loved catching up with them all, this included Busy getting increasingly paranoid about us being there after a whole day (like we were in for the long con), Alex spilling pickle juice ALL over the kitchen and himself and of course a bottle or two of wine!

And this was all before the event!!!
