We hate Pop Up’s too, can you help us get rid of it!?

Our project is established but our site is new and although we have weddings specialists in over 60 countries it’s going to take time to get everyone on the ship. If you can’t find exactly what you want please get in touch and if you are an awesome wedding specialist or you know people you want to recommend let us know.

Our lovely meal at Amor amar!

We jumped in a taxi to Amor amar and as we arrived we were greeted at the door and shown to our table. The restaurant was beautiful. Like a large verander with glass walls so you could see the cocktail bar, a raised area where the coolest people ever were drinking champagne cocktails and a lovely bar dotted with brightly coloured orchids in varying displays.

We drank in the atmosphere and were introduced to our waiters for the night and welcomed warmly by Edmine and Away the managers of the restaurant.
Luis had sent his Dad to take a few shots of us enjoying the amazing food and we soon met with Luis (Senior) and got stuck into the amazing breads served to us as warm up!

The menu was beautiful and featured many traditional Peruvian dishes including the Causa that I ordered and the ceviche that Alex ordered as a starter. Causa is a dish of mashed yellow potatoes (Peru has several thousands of variety of potato) flavoured with limes and amarillo paste and served with fresh tuna and avocado and is delicious! Alex’s octopus ceviche was out of this world and we washed the wonderful food down with an amazingly crisp bottle of white wine.

We were treat like royalty and our glasses never empty throughout the whole meal. For our main course we had more traditional treats, I had seabass saltado and Alex had lamb that had been cooked for 8 hours until it dripped from his fork, it was all so divine and the atmosphere in the restaurant was perfect for us. Great service without pressure or someone peering over you all the time, we loved it!

We were so full we could barely waddle by the end of the meal…however we did force down the complimatary chocolates and a cocktail each before we left!
We sat at the bar to be wowwed by the cocktail masters skills and tried a Coca sours and a gorgeous bellini…after being on our trip for almost a year we met our second British fellow traveller! Charlie…from Charlie…had just started working at Amoramar and we were lucky enough to try her first ever Coca sour and it was perfect…the girl will go far!

We chatted with Charlie and Edmine like we were old pals until we looked around and realised the restaurant had closed and we were the last guests to leave! We had had such a wonderful evening we hadn’t noticed the time! Edmine gave us a lift back to Peggy and we snored soundly as full as guns all night!

We thank Luis and Luis and Amoramar so much for their amazing hospitality, the amazing food and wine and those fabulous cocktails, but mostly for giving us a great night out to remember!

We might have some pics to add in the future! SO sad we lost our images!!!

Short blog but long on compliments to the chef(s) who prepared your tasty meal. Very nice to have such a treat laid on for you both, and transport so you could indulge in any drinks that took your fancy too 🙂

When you say “we might have some pics to add in the future”…..does this mean (dare I ask!!!) that the long-awaited camera is in your possession? Don’t shoot….I’m an innocent bystander…lol

    Happy trails. xx

Who knows about the camera!! Still at a loss with that. But we are hoping to get a few snaps from the photographer as they took a few on the night. Although we will probably be a bit rosy cheeked and cross eyed from the fantastic wine. 🙂

As a foodie, I love your descriptions of the meals you have! i think that would be the highlight for me if i was in your shoes! I’ve never had ceviche and am envious of Alex’s daring…don’t know why I’ve never had it as I love sushi.
    Cheers!

Never had Ceviche and you love sushi! I could live of the stuff! You must, MUST go out and make some or try some as soon as you can. It’s one of the best things I have ever eaten. Even Lisa likes it and she is not a fan of Sushi. Please try it and let me know what you think! xx
