Wow…what a crazy week!!!! Since the engagement shock it has been one crazy day after another!!
Heres the lowdown from my side of things!!!
Monday- set out for a lovely family lunch to celebrate Nannas birthday only to find that it has all been a set up for Alex to propose in front of our families! I was so shocked my response was ‘NO…you cant do this to me now…but yes of course’….but you know all about that so I wont go on for too long other than to say I am the happiest girl in the world….the ring is amazing and quite literally one of a kind….I’m sure you have all seen Alex’s mini blog on how he sourced the diamond and found Wave jewellery in the nick of time! Spent the night taking in the days events with Alex’s Mum and sister.
Tuesday-spent the day breaking the great news and catching up with friends and family and me getting very giddy about the whole thing!
Wednesday- Alex went back to Manchester so I could spend the rest of the week with my family (or so I thought).
Thursday- I get a surprise call from Alex about a last minute wedding dress fitting with the White Closet so mother and I schlep back to Manchester for that and a curry with Alex…would be rude not to…then back to Mums.
Friday-A drive along the east coast of Yorkshire to see my fabulous friend Andrea at And all things nice. An amazing little wedding shop offering handmade favours, wedding gifts and lots of quirky little wedding pieces. Then home for a family dinner and sleep over…
Saturday- Jelly and ice-cream at Nannas with the family leading to the first and hardest goodbye! I’m missing Nanna sooo much as I write! Plenty of tears and some very loud Michael Jackson to calm me down on the drive home to Manchester! Theres nothing like singing your heart out to ‘the girl is mine’ full blast on the M62 to take your mind off things!
Back to Manchester and straight to our leaving party thrown by some great friends Toff and Nats.Including shrimps on the Barbie, the world in flags, engagement banners and a huge ‘we’ll miss you’ flag! Had a fabulous night, great food, amazing company and far too much wine!!!
Sunday- Actually dying with a hangover! I can’t remember the last time I felt so rough…poor Alex was running around like a headless chicken while I felt sorry for myself! We had the house to empty and an insistent Alex made us pack our backpacks a whole 2 days early…now if you know Alex as well as I do…you know he is LAST MINUTE to the core….I knew something was going on! I asked what he was up to and his response was ‘it’s a little surprise, I can tell you if you like…just get your bag packed first!’ I decided against him telling me there and then having made my mind up that we MUST be going for a spa day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yey…what a great way to start our adventure, all refreshed and relaxed!!! Silly me!
